Dental Implants for Dentures
Why consider dental implants for a denture? Well it provides a stable, long-lasting foundation to replace missing teeth and restores your smile without the complication of having a loose denture and can improve your ability to speak and chew.
Overdenture
An overdenture is a type of denture that fits over and attaches to dental implants. Unlike traditional dentures that simply rest on the gums, an overdenture snaps into place, making it feel more secure and comfortable. Because it is anchored for stability, it is less likely to slip while you are talking or eating. Many patients find it easier to chew a wider variety of foods and speak more clearly and naturally with overdentures.
Overdentures are removable, so they can be taken out for easy cleaning and daily care by the patient and the dentist.

All on 4
An All-on-4 dental case is a treatment that replaces an entire upper or lower arch of teeth using strategically placed dental implants. Similar to an overdenture these implants act like strong anchors for the denture to hold onto. Patients like this option because the new teeth are secure and do not come out, so there is no slipping like with traditional dentures.

The difference with this compared to an overdenture is that these are permanent and you do not take them off yourself. They are removed when the patient comes in for their regular cleaning and the dentist.

All on 4 does not mean only 4 implants will be placed. It all depends on the case as everyone has different bone levels. In many cases, 5 or 6 implants need to be placed.

Who is a candidate?
Many patients qualify for dental implants if they have enough healthy bone to support them. Even when bone loss is severe, advanced techniques can often still find solutions for implant placement. In most cases, implants are an option as long as your oral health make the treatment feasible. Call us today to scheule a consult to see if you qualify !
