Fillings

Dental fillings are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by cavities, restoring their normal shape, strength, and function. Cavities form when bacteria in plaque use sugars to produce acids that slowly eat away at the tooth, creating a hole that needs to be cleaned and filled to stop further decay.

How do i know i have a cavity?

You may not always feel a cavity, and many are only found when the dentist examines your teeth or sees them on an X-ray. Signs you might notice at home include dark spots, visible holes, or grooves that look brown or black, especially if you shine a light and look closely. You might also experience sensitivity to sweets, cold, or chewing pressure. Cavities can grow and sometimes lead to the need for a root canal if left untreated, which is why regular dental checkups are so important for early detection! When was your last checkup?

What is the filling material made of ?

Our fillings are made from  tooth-colored resin materials  that bond to your tooth and blend in beautifully with your natural smile. They’re strong, aesthetic, and mercury-free. We don’t use old silver amalgam anymore—think of it as retired technology, kind of like flip phones!

Will i need a shot ?

Let’s be honest, shots are usually everyone’s least favorite part of a dental visit. Trust us, we get it. And yes, dentists get cavities too.

Whether you’ll need to be numb depends on where the cavity is and how deep it goes. That said, more often than not, numbing is needed to keep you comfortable.

The good news is we have options. We offer laughing gas, and our team goes above and beyond to make the experience as easy and stress free as possible. You are always welcome to bring your AirPods and listen to your favorite music and we are happy to provide a stress ball too.

What is laughing gas?

Nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a safe and gentle way to help you relax during your dental visit. It works quickly, wears off just as fast, and is safe for both kids and adults when administered by our trained team. You stay awake and responsive the entire time, and once your appointment is over, you can drive yourself home with no problem. It is an optional add on service and does come with an additional charge. It is called laughing gas because once it hits most people think it feels funny and laugh during their appointment!
